Piezo, or ultrasonic bone surgery, is essentially a controlled method of cutting or shaping bone.
In the classic method used since the early days of modern nasal aesthetics, bones were broken with chisels and hammers, which could cause uncontrolled fractures and cracks. To prevent this, some surgeons began to use gentler tools to break or cut bones. Piezo or ultrasonic bone surgery emerged in parallel with the technological advances. We use this device to shape the nose for nasal aesthetics.

Rhinoplasty or nasal aesthetics is not only a procedure to reduce the size of the nose, but sometimes also to enlarge the nose.
In African-American nasal structures in particular, the nasal root is flat, the tip of the nose is round and the nostrils and nostrils are very wide. In such cases, it is necessary to raise the nasal root, define the tip of the nose and narrow the nostrils. As this differs from normal nasal aesthetics, it requires experience. We usually shape the nose with cartilage taken from the ribs. No bones are broken. As there is often no manipulation inside the nose, no silicone sheets or tampons are used. The healing time is faster and we can go about our normal lives in about 5 days.

A revision rhinoplasty, also known as a secondary rhinoplasty, refers to a repeat rhinoplasty operation on a patient who has previously had a rhinoplasty.
Revision procedures can cover a broad spectrum. Sometimes a minor procedure is sufficient, sometimes the entire nose needs to be reshaped. What is important here is how and to what extent the nasal structure was altered during previous operations. In the case of revision nasal aesthetics, the procedure should generally be focussed on the problem. It is advisable to weigh up the pros and cons and only perform an operation if the risk appears appropriate. Skin problems in particular are often difficult to solve. It is important to have realistic expectations of the operation.

When we talk about rhinoplasty, we don’t just think about nasal aesthetics. Many of our patients have additional breathing problems.
The most common of these are deviation of the nasal septum and problems with the turbinates. The septum, a cartilaginous partition inside the nose, can sometimes be curved due to injury or genetic causes, which can significantly affect our breathing. The turbinates are responsible for warming and humidifying the air we breathe in. However, when these turbinates grow excessively, it is called turbinate hypertrophy, which can lead to nasal congestion. In addition, conditions such as nasal polyposis or chronic sinusitis can be treated with functional endoscopic sinus surgery, which can often be performed in conjunction with nasal aesthetics. We can also perform snoring surgery on patients with problems such as snoring or obstructive sleep apnoea by operating on structures such as the soft palate or the root of the tongue.
